Operations in Scandinavia

Back to efficient dredging news

For several reasons Scandinavia has always been the centre of development for dredging with excavators. Boskalis subsidiary Terramare in Finland now is doing a very accurate and controlled job on environmental dredging with her “Nordic Giant” dredge.

IHC Systems delivered a full “old” system upgrade to make use of all the equipment as purchased from her the last 10 years.
For two years ago the “old” XPM System was officially replaced by the XPM NG, however, support for the “old” system is still possible and for both user as supplier mutually attractive.
The “old” XPM, in the hands of a well experienced customer, is still a first class piece of instrumentation, especially when a short mobilization time is required.
Altogether the system was composed of existing equipment, software modifications and communication strings between various software models.
And we don’t forget to mention our service and our software department, where technology as originated in 1994 is still supported to the extend of “hobby”.
IHC Systems is proud that the well designed XPM hard- and software platform lasts currently more than 10 years, but also that she can offer a new Windows XP based XPM NG platform since the last 2 years.

One more “special” picture from another company. The WASA company in Finland is dredging rock with her “Attila” backhoe dredge eqquipped with our IHC Systems’ XPM system. Very serious rock! The working method is to bring the rock above the waterline and place some dynamite, the rock remains in the bucket. After submerging the bucket with the rock again the dynamite is detonated and the rock is scattered. Altogether a very special Scandinavian job.
