Back to efficient dredging news

Dear relation of IHC Systems,
The year 2005 is steadily coming to an end. As you know it’s our tradition to inform you about our state of affairs at this time of the year. As you may know our new Managing Director, Mr. Joti Hakkert, just took up office. Therefore we would like to seize this opportunity to send you a word of introduction of Mr. Hakkert and a word of farewell of Mr. Bram Roelse, our former Managing Director.
In anticipation of a busy December month, we wish you joyful festive days together with your family and friends. Please enjoy putting into use our famous calendar and diary for the year 2006.
On behalf of everyone at IHC Systems: thank you very much for the pleasant co-operation in the past year and we hope to continue our relationship in a dynamic way in 2006!

It’s amazing how incredibly fast the past five years have gone by. In my capacity as Managing Director of IHC Systems at the start of 2001 I was unfamiliar with the dredging world, but right now there seems to be no other environment. This I mean in a positive sense and I owe this positive feeling mainly to a lot of pleasant colleagues and client relations who spent a lot of time and energy in teaching me to master the details of dredging. The solidarity with a large number of employees (grown through close cooperation) has become very powerful through the ups and downs that have been endured over the period of the past five years. It was a shock for me to be asked to change jobs and the only way in which I can defend my decision is by explaining its importance to one of the two shareholders. Therefore I shall certainly remain in touch and I shall try to integrate the involvement of the employees of IHC Systems more closely into the activities of the shipyard.

What extra energy and new ideas a new job generates! It is my fourth week in my new position as Managing Director of IHC Systems. My wife and our two daughters are very happy with this transfer since I come home every night with enthusiastic stories about my new employment. My name is Joti Hakkert and I am the successor to Bram Roelse who has been promoted last year to be Managing Director of the IHC Kinderdijk Shipyard. I studied mechanical engineering at the TU Delft, after which I had several functions in Industrial Automation and train construction. My last job was with the French company Alstom Transport in the capacity of Project and Sales Director. The opportunity to be employed in the Dutch technical industry was irresistible. I am namely in favour of maintaining Dutch Industry and I am happy to be able to contribute to this. At this moment I believe that IHC Systems in the future will also have to aim at monitoring the dredging process on dredging vessels, in order that potential failures can be discovered at an early stage and may be prevented in this way. In my opinion the availability of the dredging process will be increased this way and will enable IHC Systems to distinguish itself in a positive sense from its competitors. I am pleased to find that I am dealing with a group of fine professional colleagues, largely due to the effort of Bram Roelse and the management team. In collaboration with this management team I am looking forward to a successful cooperation.
