Ladies and Gentlemen we got him, our certificate!

Back to efficient dredging news

On Friday January 12th we have been informed by the auditors of Bureau Veritas that they, after three days of work, look back with pleasure on a successful audit, and that they are going to nominate us for the presentation of the ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

The Management Team of Systems has chosen in March 2006 for an ISO route for the following five reasons:

  • Reduction of the cost of non-quality
  • The necessity of delivery to other sectors (for instance offshore)
  • Sounder basis for the introduction of process improvements
  • Better control and monitoring of planning
  • The necessity of switching in the near future to another ERP system.

January 10, 11 and 12 have been the days which may be considered the closing phase of a preparatory period of several months of preparation and adaptation of the organisation to create the basis for certification. Months during which all processes within IHC Systems have been charted and process improvements have been initiated. No department escaped this investigation, and also the management and the supporting departments were also investigated.

It has become clear that the thorough way of tackling the problem has been successful: Bureau Veritas has stated that it is rare that a first-time certification trajectory is successfully concluded. IHC Systems received neither a "yellow card" nor an official comment.

You will probably think: "why is Systems being certified only now, and why were they not certified earlier?"
Bureau Veritas made it clear that it is very rare that a first-time audit finds no faults or comments.
Obviously IHC Systems has already worked many years within the scope of high quality principles!
