Dredge Festival Sliedrecht 2004

On Saturday June 12th dredging town Sliedrecht was under the spell of the Dredge Festival, which is being organised every two years. During this event Sliedrecht, where both IHC Holland and IHC Systems are situated, is overrun by tourists and many visitors. Activities can be found all over town and mainly outside on the street, like live bands, fairs and pavements.

During this festival IHC Holland opens up her shipyard for visitors. Business units as well as fellow companies are invited to use space in the hall and show their activities. Every year the participants seem to become more and more professional in the way they decorate their booths. This year, again, every participant was very eager to have a booth in the IHC Holland hall.

For every kind of visitor there was something of interest. During the whole day the hall was crowded with people. There were over 20 participants with their booths and there was a show of a wide variety of models of dredging vessels built by IHC Holland.

IHC Systems used two of her booths for a computer game contest. Of course, this was a major success. All day through there were children playing their favourite games. At the end of the day the winners of the day were announced.

At the other Systems booth red balloons filled with helium were given (and flying) away. A lot of IHC Systems colleagues were busy all day filling balloons and giving them to children. A nice presentation of all IHC Systems activities was shown next to the booth. Naturally a lot of information could be taken from the booth. For IHC Systems the dredge festival of 2004 again was successful and we will surely participate again in two years!
