Departure of the Guangzhou hopperdredge building team

Early June IHC Systems invited the building team of the hopperdredger Wan Qing Sha for a farewell diner.

The evening before departure to their hometown of Guangzhou there was a good opportunity to speak with the Chinese delegation that has lived in the village of Nieuw Lekkerland for more than a year.
The building of the dredger, the meaning of the name (a mountain of sand shining in the sun looking like gold) and the personal experiences far away from home were pleasant subjects to discuss.
The dredger is a fine example of integrated modern control of the dredging process, delivered by IHC Systems, to the pleasure of the crew to able them to operate in an efficient and transparent way.
Looking forward we are all eager to know how the current fast economical developments in China will affect our relationship.
For the next dredger to be build for Guangzhou Dredging, will IHC personnel be in China for more than a year, or will a Chinese building team again be our guests?
Many factors, out of our control, influence the outcome of such a question.
However Chinese team leader Mr. Luo and IHC Kinderdijk yard director Mr. Van Berk agreed upon the fact that more hopper dredgers will be needed for China and for the Guangzhou Dredging Corporation in particular!
