Plume Detection (based on ADCP measurements)

In some dredge areas it is not longer allowed to disturb the surroundings by increasing the normal amount of sediment in suspension. Constant monitoring is here required to proof that the surrounding is not or slightly disturbed by dredge operations. A plume detection system is available on the market to quantify real time sediments plumes.

Radiometric detection system (RDS)

A real time detection system based on the measurement of natural radioactivity will improve the accuracy and efficiency in mineral exploration or pollution detection on the seafloor.

Full Spectrum Digital Sub-bottom Profiler

In alluvial mining dredging it is very important to know exactly where sediment layers are. It is a fact that close to these layers usual the to be mined minerals can be found. Because traditional standard acoustic sounding equipment can not be used in these kind of environments a FSDSBP is needed to survey and chart these layers to a dredge visualization computer system. Without this information the traditional way of work is to dredge with a safety tolerance of about 1 meter. With this information a dredge operator can pinpoint the dredge head to the required position en so efficiently use the dredger to the layers of interest with decimetre accuracy.
