Back to overview monitoring and control system.
The Draught and Loading Monitor DLM, displaying the load situation and the draught of the vessel on a colour video screen. The system can be equipped
with automatic control of the overflow(s), communication with other systems and with Tonnes Dry Solid determination by the “Solidsmonitor”. The system can be extended with the Automatic Light Mixture Over Board control function.
ADC (Automatic Draught Controller)
Trailing-suction hopper dredgers are frequently equipped with adjustable overflow(s) to deal with varying specific weights of the soil. The role of the
Automatic Draught Controller is to optimise hopper loading throughout the
dredging operation, ensuring that the largest permissible hopper volume is
available. A model for two or even four overflow ducts, including list and trim control functions is available.
ALMO (Automatic Light Mixture Overboard)
The ALMO installation increases efficiency of the hopper loading process by ensuring that only mixtures with a predetermined specific gravity enter the hopper; lower quality mixture is discharged overboard. The analog unit is fed with signals from concentration and flowrate indicators, and itself emits impulses which actuate the concerning gate valves.
Solidsmonitor
The Solidsmonitor is an addition on the DLM for measurement and presentation
of the actual dry solid quantity in the hopper. Sufficient internal data is now available for presentation of the loading efficiency.
